Antique tree

This is my treasured antique silver tin tree.  Each and every branch goes back into a paperbag sleeve very delicately and the spine gets unscrewed into 2 poles to store away until my youngest begs for it to come out to play.  I didn't dare use any blown glass ornaments with a new kitty in the house.  He was very good.

May you be blessed in your new year.  xox!

snowing in Houston

Right out my back gate the elementary kids are getting to visit outside to see it snowing.  When we're lucky here it snows no more than once a year.  Kids go nuts!

Oh Christmas Tree shoppe

This is from Labor Day when we went to Schlitterbaun in New Braunsfels, TX.
Isn't this sign funny at the parking area?

You can tell in the background that this is a marvelous old home and every room was filled to capacity with different themes.

It was color themed too.  It was overwhelming to see so much stuff in 1 place.

I'm a blown glass ornament fan.  I use them on my silver tree from my mother-in-law.  We will put it up this year because our chief reindeer has been begging to get it out again. ;)

I only walked out with a few ornaments.  I am not sure where they are or I'd post them.

xox!!  Blessings to ya

locks of love

This is me bravely driving to see my girlfriend at the hair salon.  I looked up the locks of love web-site to remind myself how long your hair has to be for them to accept a donation.  I thought it was 12" but it is 10".
Hubby didn't want to give up the pony and I really didn't either but...it's only hair.

It does my heart good to know that this braid will go to a precious child under age 18 that has lost their hair and self-esteem due to medical reasons. I myself will be checked into the hospital on Sunday to do extensive testing on my brain so with at least 16 electrodes hooked up to my head I thought I'd sacrifice my pony.

I know the Lord will bless me and may he bless your heart today.  xox!!

I splurged on this guy so I could have a turkey with some substance to him.

It seems a lot of people are putting their daily Facebook status as the Thankful challenge.  I think it is a secret in life and in God's plan.  If we can learn to be thankful in all things then we tap into what it is really all about.

If I catch myself whining or wanting to whimper about anything lately I remember what one of the baseball coaches said to my youngest:  Is the whawhawha-mbulance coming or something??  That'll shut you up real fast, huh?  Blessings to you, xox!

Blue eyes shining

Wow, I got a blue Monday post together.

Sponge Bob looks good on our neighbor, huh?

Optimus Prime and Commander Fox.

Nate cracks me up.  He gets all razzed up about Trick or Treat'n and makes 2 streets and circles back home to sit with hubby to see the costumes coming up. :0)

Well, as you can see Halloween night was a joyous time at our place.  Now, I gotta get my Turkeys in place of the Jack O'Lanterns all around the house.

I missed ya'll while I was out of shots to share.

Sally must have some good blue Monday shots to share.  xox!

Dogs and peanut butter

Happy Hopeful and Foodie Friday

I'm joyful because I finally have a new camera.

These are my famous ghost nutter buddies~!  It is a box of nutter butter classic shaped cookies and a bag of almond bark.  It is really easy to chop and melt the bark in the microwave for 20 second intervals, then stir in between and is ready within a minute to then dip your cookies mostly into leaving the bottom undipped.  You insert 2 mini chocolate chips for eyes and whalla.  Halloween Block Party food.

These are my infamous mummy dogs.  I was impatient with the mustard eyes so they got messy.  Hubby actually wrapped these for me.  It is a pkg of pillsbury crescent rolls and 2 pkgs of hot dogs.  The kids grabbed all of these up before trick or treat'n.  They didn't even bother with the ketchup "blood" tubs to dip in.  They just grabbed and kept running around.  My neighbor makes chili in a huge pot and we bring the extra goodies.  The weather was gorgeous.

We had more than usual at our block party that has been going on for about 5 years.  It keeps growing.  I still envision apple bobbing and pumpkin carving.  This is just part of the crowd.

Here are some of the kids on our block.  For me to be the one who's driveway everyone comes is very cool and funny to me.  I'm the shyest of all of them and not the best hostess...lots of love but not much organization or hospitality skills.

Happy Hound Dog Thursday too.

Jack Beagle is pathetic lately...I have to pet him constantly.  He gets on my lap on the couch and up in my face begging for attention.  I need to convince the boys to walk him daily!!

Look at him on top of me and almost on top of 7th grader trying to do homework.

This is why I blogged about my 4th grader and my hopes for him.  This is pumpkin orange but is no pumpkin.
He was practicing on his Heeleys and down he went with all his weight onto his left wrist and buckle broke his arm.  He has hardly complained except for the itching of this new cast...4 weeks to wear it. ;P

A friend loves at all times.
This is a buddy from baseball.  They became fast friends and are like 2 peas in a pod.  This is them at lil' brothers baseball game helping hubby..aka Coach.
My son has had his share of heart break as he watches his friends go thru divorce of their parents.  This kid was sent into our lives (like so many others have been) on purpose for us to pray over, welcome and love on.  He really needs it.
Now Lord, heal my body and help me clean up the joint to be proud of the home you keep sending all of these young lives to hang out.  xox!!

Love, Hope and Joy

This is my guy!!
We were taking bluebonnet pictures and this field full of yellow flowers was behind us and he spontaneously took off running and dancing thru the beauty of it. I pray this dude soars on wings as eagles, walks and does not grow weary and reaches all his dreams and aspirations and knows the presence of God profoundly.

He's such a great guy but I hope he doesn't walk in my shadows.  You know...the places I've been that I don't want my kids to ever tread.  He wears his heart on his sleeve like me...I hope he'll learn to tuck it in better and let the Lord have his hurts.

I'm hopeful for him!  I'm prayerful for him!  He inspires me to be better, live fuller and get over myself.

Here's hoping you are off to a terrific weekend of Joy.  xox!

Please join the Hopeful Friday gang at Charli and Me.

An Apple Today?

This is the breakfast table when I was decorating for Fall several weeks ago.  It was fun getting it all out and then separating it into different areas of my home.
There is a little Red in there.

I took this shot during our Labor Day trip at a mall across town.  I asked to take a picture and was too embarrassed to take 2 or 3 shots.  There were racks in front of this full of apples.  I'm dreaming of making caramel apples for our Halloween block party Saturday.  I'm trying to work up the nerve to do it.  Look at these beauties!!

Have a happy Rednesday and go see what
Sue Loves Cherries and gang have on display today.  xox!

Blue box

Happy Blue Monday

I almost bought this blue box to put in my son's room.  They have a bazillion clone troopers and army men and vehicles that end up all over my home.  The raw wood amunition box is cool too.

Head on over to Smiling Sally for blue monday posts.  I love all the different things we catch and show each other.  xox!

Pink girls in the hood

Happy Pink Saturday

Last year our street was going wild before Trick or Treat time!!
Is this the cutest shot of these 2 neighbor girls or what??
I hope ya'll are gonna be ready for children to ring your bell.

Look at most of the others of the youngest possie.  They are hanging out in the neighbors truck bed.  They all have a thing about our trucks. :)

Well, hope to make rounds to see what ya'll are showing today at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound.

xox!!  keep bloomin' girls...we are not home yet.

Blue Ridge dessert plates

Happy Vintage Thingy Thursday

I wanted to show these 2 plates today, even though they are hanging to prove to us that we never have put the molding up near the ceiling to finish our cabinets. :)  These belong to a set of 8 dessert plates that my Grandmother gave me.  They all feature different fruit, and not the prettiest ever but oh, so sentimental.  They are Blue Ridge Southern Potteries.   Is that funny or what?  Ya'll know I'm a southern gal but my G'ma is anything but...she resides in Massachusetts and has her whole life.  I had the rest displayed in my dining room until I moved that antique wardrobe you can see thru the door.  It now lives in the dining room to hold dish collections.  I'll showcase my dining room for ya'll as it comes back together.

I love Vintage thingies!!  Modern...bluuccckk
Hope to make the rounds at
 Colorado Lady, Vintage Thingy Thursday.

Ya'll may have seen some of these pics before.  Still no camera and hubby is bauking at buying another.

This plate stands on a holder right as you enter the living room, it greets you.

Bloody eyeball gumballs that went quick. We also have had gummy worms.

Now, Go forth and view other blog parties or I'll have to let the Clone Trooper army loose on you.

Hello Pink Saturday ladies.  I hope you are all having a fabulous Fall season.

Is this so funny?  My son and his buddy found my Muffy VanderBear stash of bears and accessories.
They had scenes all over the livingroom for hours.

There is a lot of burgandy in this shot.  But also lots of pink flowers in the pots on the print.  I just love this shot of the doorway.  I imagine a huge courtyard on the other side with a water fountain and bricked path.  Also, the little pink home-made sign in my flower pot is a scripture I love that reads, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise, give thanks to him and praise his name." Psalm 100:4

This is a painting my girlfriend gave me from an Estate sale.  It is in my dining room that is in transition right now.  I love her.  I love the colors.  I'm not sure how I missed having the whole thing in my shot?

That is it this week.  Have a happy Pink Saturday and there are 157 posts at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound..go see for yourself.  xox!

Hello Rednesday gang.  I've got card recipes to show you today...

this is a really nice set to make as a gift.

I love the simplicity of this and the colors.

this one is layers and layers to do in stages and lastly...

I have this stamp set of trees and love this layered look.
Well, that is it.  I hear it snowed in South Dakota and kept my mom's co-worker from gettting back to Texas for work on Monday so I know it is snowing somewhere.

Dear Lord, you know our goings out and our comings in...you ordain our path.
