Copy Cat Challenge - Christmas Table
I totally wanted to join in last month for the Bundt pan challenge offered up at Cuisine Kathleen's blog! At the last minute someone posted a similar pan so I felt better about missing the opportunity.
I had to make this month's party to copy cat an internet table! I pinned my inspiration table in my Table Escapes board on Pinterest last year from Style Estate. It is just so homey, cozy and simple. Hers has a burlap table cloth, huge collection of jelly jars and doilies.
This is a terrible screen shot of the inspiration! You can see it better on my Pinterest board?? (sorry Gals) She used simple greenery on her table but I could not get any that simple for my attempt. I wanted to use my Rosemary, but I can't use this much or I'll be busted. This is the longest my Rosemary has ever been a success story!! And, I live in a Pine Forest practically but they are like sky scrapers...not available branches.
Here is my table. I took Bolt on a walk and clipped some berry twigs. I used my doily collection and empty, clean jars. I filled my jars with coarse sea salt and thrifted snowball candles. I was limited by the number of candles I had on hand. I could have used as many as she has.
I added the Pfaltzgraff White Holly dishes because they were serene enough for the look. That was the inspiration for the berry stems. The texture on the rim of my plates is holly stems. I picked them up last year on-line deep discount.
It feels so Christmas like to me. Like a soft snow-fallen evening. I used the table runner from World Market that Hubby and the boys gifted me last year. They gave me the placemats too but I wanted to keep the shots as simple as possible.
Ok: the next day this is what I did because of my little salad plates I found last year at Hobby Lobby, 90% off...
Very colorful and modern & very much not the amazing look that the original table has. I hope Y'all can bear with a Blogger that can barely make it around all the new pop-up hassels and technology changes I blunder.
I cannot wait to see what Kathleen puts up for the 1st quarter challenges of 2015! Thank you Kathleen for the fun challenges that spur us on to nest and enjoy what brings us joy. I have a few more tables to check out that were added in the last 24 hours.

Autumn
This is an image I took at the farm in North Carolina where we got married, and Hubby's Momma lives. It is a wonderful little lost oasis in our crazy..thriving...industrial...urban country. It is the kinda place to spend an Autumn week or weekend just walking the grounds...talking to God...listening to the birds, insects.. Watching the fields sway and the clouds roll thru.
A lost art!!!

Spring Love
Hello Gals!! We are having way too much fun teasing our teenage boy about cars. I'd love to drive a Plum toyota...but not a 15/16 yr old boy!!! lol
We keep taking pics and saying...how about this 1 or that 1. He doesn't think it is as funny as we do.
In true Momma Love fashion, I've taken my boy's side and he and I have sent a few photos too. Our baby wants a Ford Mustang and Momma drove a red mustang back in the day so I am partial.
Are we all having some crazy Spring weather or what?? Thank you God for this cool snap in Texas.
Today was/is National Day of Prayer...God Bless America!!

I am back!!
I have a serious phone problem apparently! I downloaded 7,000 pics from my phone. Gotta find out how to delete them from there. My whole life is on there. lol
I brought my spring flower additions to the patio home a few weeks ago in 57 degree chill. Crazy weather we are having this Spring. It is usually about 77-87 now.
In Pre-k we are visiting the Rain Forest for 1 more week. We are gonna make our own rainsticks out of rice and paper towel rolls.
From my day planner for April...which ends today. Are ya ready for the craziest month of the year...May?!

Tech diff
All of a sudden...I can't find my Picasa pics. My phone acts like it is posting them but I go to retreive them and nutt'n!
I gotta find a Blog Diva to help me!! It is full on baseball season. I took my oldest son for his 2nd appt. with a Chiropractic specialist. I feel good about him because he is also an athlete. He explained everything he was doing to Jake. Jake is a Varsity pitcher and he is having arm/shoulder issues. He is on his 2nd week of NO game-time as his body recovers from a "micro trauma" (what the Dr. called it).
About to see about loading up my Swap box and sending it off to Oregon. I have had so much fun!! I hope you can join us next time.

Creamware Dreams
I finally couldn't stand it this past Fall/Winter season. I had to have a beagle plate!
Spode Woodland series just goes on and on!! But, a beagle...I can NOT resist. I already have the real thing here, Jack Beagle, but still...
I believe there was a special deal at Char-Crews before Christmas. I jumped on it even though I wasn't suppose to spend another $$. I think I got 25% off and free shipping if I spent a certain amount. That started the whole hoard!
Did ya know that Beagles eat/chase/hunt Bunnies?! I love bunnies, they are everywhere on my property. So, since Beagle Run Cottage days, I always have my tongue in my cheek about beagles and bunnies. Had to have bunnies!! Thrifted the covered dish bunny several yrs ago.
Did ya know that brown bunnies go white in the winter?! I read that somewhere when I was drooling over these dishes on E-bay for months. I did find a few that way.
I had to put the duck in there? They had like 20% off at Tuesday Morning and I got small ducks. For goodness sakes...I thrifted the covered dish last yr. My mom has the ugliest duck lamp/planter that I know is olden and valuable. I laughed at it for yrs when I went over there... but now...I want it!! I have to have it for my Woodland set. I can just see it on the sideboard when I use these dishes.
Couldn't pass this up thrifting after finding all these beauties.
Did I ever tell ya that my son is a Falcon at school and on the baseball team?! He should have a dinner on a falcon plate before a big game...don't you think? He has an over-use injury right now and I need to get these ready for his 1st game back pitching!!
Must I stop with Spode Woodland? Can't I mix and match?
Gorgeous plates I etsy shopped. I was getting everything in sets of 2 so I could build a tablescape. These creamware are the 1st dishes Hubby has every really liked. He likes all the warm tones.
My mom and I antiqued at Christmas together and she spied this for like $6.
Glorious plate that looks like the estate 1 would hunt from for a get-away from politics.
Love, love, love me some dishes!!

Now, Y'all know why I got all gittery when I saw Sweet Bee with this in her Etsy. "Falcon Feathers" or Eagle?? around the rim!!
Next time U see these...I'll have them all decked out for a meal. I have fun accessories to show n tell.
Love, love, love me some dishes!!

Banner Over Me
Jennifer Rizzo's blog is 1 of 6 blogs involved in this 6 Days of Spring Linky. Go check out all the details.
Nate and Hubby got home from the grocery the other day and they had gotten me some white mini roses and purple filler. It is beautiful and brightened up my week.
Look what needs some lovin..
My mantel has been stripped of it's valentine's banner and awaiting my Spring inspiration. I will use burlap...antique post cards...trim...ribbon. Just hasn't struck me yet.
This hangs in front of me as I do my dishes. I found the dogwood blossom on Pinterest and fell in LOVE!! Hubby and I got engaged during the Dogwood Festivals in East Texas.
Got this hung for Nate who throws shot put and discus. He is also on a select baseball team so the baseballs have his team name and protect the plate. He plays 1st base.
Jake can't fix his hair without seeing what I made for him either. lol Keep Calm and throw strikes. Love it!! his jersey # and team cheer.
Happy crafting...Ladies!!
I have a lot more Spring fluffing to do!!

Master Suite touches
Waste Not Want Not Wednesday
I may figure out Mr. Linky sometime soon. It should come back to me easily. Here is this weeks free-cycle/re-cycle projects.
I have been working in the Master Suite since before we took possession of our new to us home 2 yrs ago. I purchased a found object for 1/2 price, $50 and off I went on my newest tangent. I have built the room up over time. If you saw the canopy treatment I gave up to move...this would make sense to ya.
It is an ornamental window salvage piece. My Aunt helped me add my favorite fabrics and find the right floral swags to intertwine. I lurv it!! This all hangs above my bed.
Once that was all up, I set my sights in our bathroom. It is white on white & beige all over. Hubby thought I was crazy but helped me recently with a curtain treatment. I bought the panel like 1 yr ago at World Market clearance for $12. It has been waiting in my closet for it's reveal day. I dug into my vintage door knob collection to hang the panel. We used a scrap of trim from our prev house as the backer-board.
Here she is with 1 knob mounted.
Here is the much prized collection of old...funky knobs, aka..vintage thingies. The curtain panel has large wooden rounds at the top to hook around the knobs. In place and up close. I love the patina of found objects and the history and the re-inventing.
Even Hubby is suprised how much he likes it.
A little perspective. The mirror wall makes the color double.
Sweet lil Bird Tassel to tie back the curtain.
sad reminder of the desperate need I had to fill the space.
To see what others are doing to color their world:
