Copy Cat Challenge - Christmas Table

I totally wanted to join in last month for the Bundt pan challenge offered up at Cuisine Kathleen's blog!  At the last minute someone posted a similar pan so I felt better about missing the opportunity.

I had to make this month's party to copy cat an internet table!  I pinned my inspiration table in my Table Escapes board on Pinterest last year from Style Estate.  It is just so homey, cozy and simple.  Hers has a burlap table cloth, huge collection of jelly jars and doilies.

This is a terrible screen shot of the inspiration!  You can see it better on my Pinterest board?? (sorry Gals)  She used simple greenery on her table but I could not get any that simple for my attempt.  I wanted to use my Rosemary, but I can't use this much or I'll be busted.  This is the longest my Rosemary has ever been a success story!!  And, I live in a Pine Forest practically but they are like sky scrapers...not available branches.

Here is my table.  I took Bolt on a walk and clipped some berry twigs.  I used my doily collection and empty, clean jars.  I filled my jars with coarse sea salt and thrifted snowball candles.  I was limited by the number of candles I had on hand.  I could have used as many as she has.
I added the Pfaltzgraff White Holly dishes because they were serene enough for the look.  That was the inspiration for the berry stems.  The texture on the rim of my plates is holly stems.  I picked them up last year on-line deep discount.
It feels so Christmas like to me.  Like a soft snow-fallen evening.  I used the table runner from World Market that Hubby and the boys gifted me last year.  They gave me the placemats too but I wanted to keep the shots as simple as possible.

Ok:  the next day this is what I did because of my little salad plates I found last year at Hobby Lobby, 90% off...
Very colorful and modern & very much not the amazing look that the original table has.  I hope Y'all can bear with a Blogger that can barely make it around all the new pop-up hassels and technology changes  I blunder.

I cannot wait to see what Kathleen puts up for the 1st quarter challenges of 2015!  Thank you Kathleen for the fun challenges that spur us on to nest and enjoy what brings us joy.  I have a few more tables to check out that were added in the last 24 hours.

So glad you joined in, and really happy to hear you enjoy the challenges. Sometimes I wonder if I should continue, but if even a few like it, I will.

  6. Denise YOU DID SUCH A NICE JOB! I love the candles in the jars with the white salt as a base. How fun that you could take a stroll and find the greenery! I have to say I am having rosemary envy!! We have had weather in the 50s all December which is unheard of and so my tiny rosemary is still alive, but as soon as the snow comes it will die!
